I’m getting married in 22 days!(!!) We are getting I’m getting married in 22 days!(!!) We are getting married out of state, and will be gone a total of two weeks! 😍 So, to make sure my clients are supported while I am offline, I’ve made sure to do a ton of prep work in advance.

If your curious how I take so much time off as a service provider who is the only one doing the work in my business, I thought I’d give you a little peek!

Here’s a list of what I’ve been doing that I know is going to help me enjoy my time off without worrying about anything having fallen through the cracks.

I’ve let my clients know in advance not only the dates I’ll be offline well in advance, but when the latest date is that they can hand off tasks to me so that they know the cut off and I’m not being overwhelmed at the last minute. For me, I use that last week before I go offline to wrap up any loose ends and set myself and my clients up nicely for when I am back.

Everything goes on my calendar now - even personal appointments and when I’m cooking dinner and my downtime - so I know how much time I actually have each week for my existing client work and for working ahead.

I’m not taking on any new work or clients. For me, I maybe want to onboard one new client for the remainder of 2026, but September isn’t a great time for me to be doing that. So, while I am networking and continuing to build relationships as much as I can, I’m not going to actively onboard any new clients. Anyone who wants to work with me will be onboarded mid-October when I am back from my wedding/honeymoon.

Saying no and accepting that there are some things that just aren’t going to get done in my personal life before I am offline. Do I want to clean out my dresser and closet and donate tons of stuff to Goodwill? Yes. Is that going to happen before October? Absolutely not. LOL.

What’s your # 1 tip for preparing to take time away from your biz? I’d love to know!
I loveeee the ‘ber months! My birthday is in Sept I loveeee the ‘ber months!

My birthday is in September, plus my family is throwing me a little bridal brunch before my wedding, so this September feels extra special!

I’m getting married October 1st and will be honeymoon’n in Montana for 9 days after! Going to be the best October ever!

November = Thanksgiving foods which are my favorite plus celebrating Jason’s birthday!

In December my niece will have her beautiful wedding to her true love, plus there will be all the fun holiday things to do!

On top of all of that, business has historically always been better for me in the ‘ber months too. My clients are done with summer breaks and getting back to work, which means I get to do more of the type of work I love, too.

Now, your turn… What’s your favorite ‘ber month, and why?!
If you’re a solo female founder who struggles to f If you’re a solo female founder who struggles to fit all of your business to do’s into normal business hours, it might be time to hire an Executive Assistant.

Instead of letting stuff fall through the cracks, or working late into the evening and missing out on your life, hire an EA for 15 hours a month to help you do all of the things you don’t have time for but that still need to get done. 15 hours might not seem like a lot, but I promise you even this small amount of time is going to give you back so much more time on your calendar.

If you are like “Omgosh yes, Kelly, I need help!”, send me a DM and let’s chat about what working together could look like.

I’d love to help you free up some time so you can work 9 to 5 and then go enjoy your life outside of work!
